Thursday August 21st...Playoff dreams and Daytona chaos collide in Coke Zero Sugar 400

  And so – again - it will come down to a perpetually thrilling night-time 400-miler at the Daytona International Speedway to finalize the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff field.

 Fourteen of the 16 positions are already firmed up by winning drivers this season. The final two championship contenders will be decided in Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 regular season finale on the Daytona high-banks (7:30 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

NASCAR unveils innovative 2026 schedules for national touring series

The release of the full schedule on Wednesday—along with all race dates for the newly entitled NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series—brought some new competitors into the mix, notably the Robert Johnson classic “Sweet Home Chicago” and “Dover, You’re an All-Star,” to borrow loosely from the Smash Mouth hit of 1999.

 Another busy week awaits as the home stretch for the 2025 World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season nears.

First, a new track is ahead as The Greatest Show on Dirt debuts at Mississippi Thunder Speedway on Tuesday, Aug. 19. The World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Models have made 10 trips to the Fountain City, WI track, but it’ll be the first ever for their Sprint Car counterparts.  Rich Crane, from Canaan, CT, triumphed in DIRTCar Pro Stock Series action at Brewerton Speedway. It was a tight battle for the top positions as Ashley Falls, MA driver, Jason Casey drove up from fourth-place to capture the second step on the podium while pole-sitter Deven Camenga was forced to settle for third. 


TIMMER TIME: Tim Sears Jr. Wins SummerFAST Stop at Brewerton, Earns First Career Super DIRtcar Series Triumph


Mat Williamson finishes second and extends points lead to 88 over Alex YankowskiIn third grade, Tim Sears Jr. said he dreamed of winning a Super DIRTcar Series Feature. And after years of trying, that dream became a reality Monday night during SummerFAST at Brewerton Speedway.

The Hastings, NY driver charged from eighth to take the lead on Lap 49 and never looked back to score his first Series triumph just minutes away from his hometown.

“Wow, this is awesome,” Sears said. “In front of the home crowd, too? How much better can you get?
