DeVault Evens the Score at Shadyhill Speedway, Wins GLSS Debut Saturday

Medaryville, IN - Many times, drivers will say that a race track “owes them one” after a bad night. For Zane DeVault, Shadyhill Speedway has been on the IOU list for nine seasons. Saturday night with the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, Shadyhill Speedway’s debt was paid in full.

In 2018, DeVault flipped in turn one at the start of a heat race at Shadyhill Speedway. The crash sent DeVault over the turn one wall, and his car eventually landed in a retention pond some 50 yards away from the wall of the race track. As a result of the crash, DeVault was transported to an area hospital. Since the crash, numerous safety improvements have been made to the race track, which helped lead GLSS to the Ľ-mile paperclip.

Kobe Allison and Zane DeVault led the field to green ahead of the 25-lap main event. DeVault used the outside line to grab the lead at the exit of turn number two while Allison slid into the second spot ahead of Friday night’s feature winner, Mason Hannagan.

With 15 laps to go, Jared Horstman was attempting to set up a pass on Caleb Harmon when Horstman caught a piece of Harmon’s left rear tire. The contact sent Horstman flipping end-over-end in turns one and two and was the only incident of the race.

On the restart, DeVault pulled out to a comfortable lead. Behind him, Max Stambaugh searched all over the race track to try and find a way onto the podium to get around Hannagan and try to track down Allison. Meanwhile, DeVault was picking his way through lapped traffic, but not before Allison closed the gap to within one second with five laps to go. That was the closest Allison came to DeVault in the final stages, as the Plymouth, Indiana native made his way to victory lane.

“It’s pretty cool, I remember watching E-Mods here with my dad and everything back in the day,” DeVault recalled. “Obviously, the last time I was here I went out of the ball park and ended up in the hospital. It’s fun to come back out here and win where you grew up.”

Zac Broughman was awarded the Operating Engineers 324 Hard Charger.

Gregg Dalman won Engler Machine & Tool Heat Race Number 1.

Kobe Allison won Howard Johnson by Wyndam Heat Race Number 2.

Zane DeVault won Miami Paint Heat Race Number 3.

The next event for the Great Lakes Super Sprints is Friday, May 22nd at Limaland Motorsports Park before a trip back to Michigan on Saturday to Crystal Motor Speedway. Hannagan the Next Generation: Mason Hannagan Wins Run for the Rabbit with GLSS at Limaland

Lima, OH - They say that the sequel is rarely as good as the original. Friday night, in just his seventh career start, Mason Hannagan put a stop to that narrative before it could ever begin. For what was the richest payout in Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP history, Mason Hannagan worked around veteran, John Ivy, to collect the $5,000 payday in the 27th Run for the Rabbit at Limaland Motorsports Park.

Hannagan and Ivy led the 20-car field to the green flag after 31 cars unloaded hoping for a chance at the big payday. Ivy jumped out to the early lead and paced the field for the better part of the first half of the race. Behind him, drivers were jockeying for position, including Kalib Henry and Phil Gressman, who were exchanging close-quarters sliders, Nate Dussel and Jared Horstman occupied similar real estate multiple times as well.

At the halfway mark, Hannagan began developing his move to take the lead. Following Ivy into turns one and two, Hannagan nearly got into the tail tank of Ivy’s No.5I. In his correction, Hannagan found the top of turn two and built a run going into turn three. The second-generation driver carried the run to the exit of turn four and took the lead from Ivy going into turn one.

Meanwhile, Chase Dunham and Horstman both had separate incidents of spinning off of turn two, but keeping the car moving in the right direction, which kept the race green. Hannagan was able to navigate his way through lapped traffic and pick up his first career GLSS win.

“I don’t even know what to say, man,” Hannagan said in Victory Lane. “I’m honestly really emotional; it didn’t set in until the lap after the checkered. I honestly have no idea what to say right now. I know my mom’s watching, so shoutout to mom at home. This is by far the coolest thing in the world.”

John Ivy held on for second, Kalib Henry brought home third.

Ryan Conium earned the Operating Engineers 324 Hard Charger moving up six spots.

John Ivy won Engler Machine and Tool Heat Race Number 1

Corbin Gurley won Howard Johnson by Wyndam Heat Race Number 2

Kalib Henry won Miami Paint Heat Race Number 3

Zane DeVault won Ohio CAT Rentals Heat Race Number 4

Hartford, MI - Officials with Hartford Speedway and the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP have made the difficult decision to cancel the event scheduled for Friday, May 8th. A dangerous racing surface and consideration for the race teams are the causes for the cancellation.

Officials at Hartford Speedway have made several improvements to the facility this winter and spring, including adding new clay around the race track. However, due to the excessively wet and cold conditions in southern Michigan this spring, the track is too soft to prepare and will undoubtedly cause mechanical failures and accidents if raced on.

Officials with the GLSS are thankful to the staff and promoters of Hartford Speedway for making this decision, saving teams from the potential strain of a rough race track.

The next event for Hartford Speedway is scheduled for Friday, May 15th, featuring the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints Presented by CAT Rental Stores.

For the Great Lakes Super Sprints, the next event is Friday, May 15th for the $5,000 to win Run for the Rabbit from Limaland Motorsports Park. A debut appearance at Shadyhill Speedway follows on Saturday, May 16th.

The Great Lakes Super Sprints portion of the show will not be rescheduled. Officials are working to find a suitable reschedule date for the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints portion of the show.

Great Lakes Super Sprints Open Hartford Speedway Friday Night

Hartford, MI - The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP will help kick the gates open at Michigan’s Hartford Speedway this Friday night. One of the most technically challenging tracks on the circuit, Hartford Speedway offers teams an early-season opportunity to set themselves apart from the rest of the pack. Likewise, the tough-to-navigate third turn could also be an early-season troublemaker.

Hartford Speedway has long been a staple on the GLSS schedule, going back to the inaugural season in 2016. Dustin Daggett grabbed the win and the fast qualifier honors that season during the lone race held in July. Friday will mark the 19th different race held at Hartford. In that time, 10 different drivers have gone to victory lane.

The West Michigan facility has a habit of producing first-time winners with GLSS. Last season, Chase Dunham earned his first career win with the Tour after setting fast time earlier in the night. Dunham was a former track record holder at Hartford Speedway, setting the mark in 2020 before Tylar Rankin blistered a new record in 2022 with a 14.647, which remains the current record. Keith Sheffer, Jr and Jay Steinebach also reside on the list of drivers who earned their first career GLSS wins at Hartford Speedway. For Dunham, Sheffer, and Steineback, the wins serve as their only breakthroughs with the Series to date.

Former GLSS Champion, Ryan Ruhl, also notched his first GLSS win at Hartford Speedway in June of 2019. Since then, Ruhl has gone on to collect 10 career GLSS wins, three of which have come from Hartford.

The GLSS roll into Hartford having completed just one points-paying race this season, going back to Crystal Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 25th. Zane DeVault grabbed the win after a pair of engine failures for Jared Horstman and Clinton Boyles. DeVault currently sits atop the GLSS points championship hunt, but is expected to miss Hartford on Friday. Dustin Daggett and Max Stambaugh are separated by just 12 points heading into the weekend, with Van Gurley, Jr and Corbin Gurley directly behind them.

The Great Lakes Super Sprints open the season at Hartford Speedway on Friday, May 8th alongside Super Troopers and Cyber Stocks. Pit gates open at 4:00 PM with Grandstands opening at 5:00 PM. Fans who can’t make the trip can find the event live on GreatLakesSprints.tv

Merrill, MI - With one points-paying race in the books for the Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP, the season rolls on with a huge doubleheader weekend in Buckeye country, and in the land of the Hoosiers. Limaland Motorsports Park is slated to open the 2026 season with GLSS on Friday, May 1st, while Montpelier Speedway welcomes GLSS alongside the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints on Saturday, May 2nd.

A staple on the GLSS schedule, Limaland Motorsports Park has long played host to 360 Sprint Car racing. Friday’s season opener for the track will be the 22nd contest held at the University of Northwestern Ohio playground. Many of Ohio’s best have GLSS-sanctioned wins at the facility, including Devon Dobie, Jac Nickles, and Randy Hannagan. Other winners include Dustin Daggett, Dylan Westbook, and Tylar Rankin. But, only a select few have multiple GLSS wins at Limaland.

Jared Horstman, who had a chance to go back to victory lane in 2025 as part of his seven-win season, has been held out of the win column at Limaland since winning a pair of events in his championship-winning 2017 season. Nate Dussel is part of the multiple-wins club thanks to his feature wins in June of 2023. Likewise, Creed Kemenah has two GLSS wins at Limaland to his credit from the 2023 season. Luke Griffith also had himself a multi-win season in 2023, grabbing wins in May and July.

Only two drivers can say they’ve won more than two GLSS races at Limaland in their career, though. World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year contender, Kasey Jedrzejek has three feature wins to his credit, the first coming in July of 2024. The LaGrange, Ohio native added his second win Memorial Day Weekend last year, and picked up his third win on July 4th.The all-time GLSS wins leader at Limaland is four-time and defending Series Champion, Max Stambaugh. The Smith Motorsports driver grabbed his first career win in front of his home crowd on May 2nd of 2025, part of a four-win season in Lima and nine overall wins for the year.

On Saturday, the sanction returns to Montpelier Speedway in Montpelier, Indiana for the first time in nearly a decade. In fact, Winged Sprint cars have been absent from Montpelier Speedway since the last Great Lakes Super Sprints’ event in July of 2019. Jared Horstman grabbed the inaugural event on July 29, 2017, as part of an 11 win season for the two-time GLSS Champion. The next two shows, however, went to 2018 GLSS Champion, Dustin Daggett, with wins in July of 2018 and July of 2019.

The Great Lakes Super Sprints take on Montpelier Speedway alongside the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints, who make their Montpelier Speedway debut on Saturday night. Due to cooler forecasted temperatures, racing at Montpelier Speedway is set to begin at 6:00 PM.

As for Friday night at Limaland Motorsports Park, things are still scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM.

Aaron Reutzel stole one from Mother Nature and Fremont Speedway tonight, winning his fourth

NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Valvoline feature at the Track That
Action Built and taking home $20,000.

Battling the rain, 40 cars checked in with Hank Davis, Sand Springs, OK, setting Capitol Custom
Trailers Quick Time with an 11.998. He was just two tenths off the track record during his first
    visit to Fremont Speedway.

Reutzel repeated his success from Saturday night by winning Premier Planning heat race one.
Cale Thomas won All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads heat race two. Kalib Henry won Adaptive
One Calipers heat race three. Fremont regular TJ Michael won Bazell Race Fuels heat race
    four.

After spinning during Bazell Race Fuels heat four and finishing 7th, Tyler Courtney rallied to win
the Tub O’Towels B-main. He transferred to the NAPA Auto Parts feature along with Cap Henry,
    Cole Macedo and Zane DeVault.

Reutzel continued his streak by winning the Level Utilities Dash, putting him on the pole of the
    feature.

As clouds moved in and threatened sprinkles, 26 cars pushed out for the 40-lap $20,000-to-win
feature. Reutzel took the early lead and fended off defending All Star champion, Kalib Henry,
who finished second. As cautions kept the track clear for the leaders, the car to watch was Cole
Macedo. Working his way through traffic, Macedo, who started 23rd, advanced 20 positions to
    finish third.

“It’s cool to get another,” Reutzel said of his 40th career All Star win. “It’s been a long time. In
that short period of three years, we racked up a bunch of them. It’s cool to get back to Fremont.
The track was pretty good tonight. We were struggling. We tried stuff all night. Running for
points, we never really get to test and we tested a bunch of stuff tonight and nothing was really
that good so we kind of went back to what we know. We were rushed there at the end, which
was the right move by the All Stars, that I forgot to put some stuff back and under that open red I
had them adjust the left rear shock and I was right back to being really good.”

Next up, the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Valvoline heads east
to visit Michaels Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday, May 23rd, and Wayne County Speedway
on Sunday, May 24th. Both races are $7,500-to-win.
