DEJA VU: Rico Abreu Edges Brad Sweet at Grandview for Back-to-Back Roto-Rooter Midweek Series Wins

Rico Passes CBell in Lap Traffic; Beats "The Big Cat" by 0.160-seconds at Checkered Flag

KOKOMO, IND. (May 12, 2025) Both Roto-Rooter Midweek Series events have been eerily similar between the oh-so-close photo finishes and Rico Abreu's winning ways.

After being on the offensive end of a stunning 0.101-second victory last Monday at Kokomo Speedway over Justin Peck, this time Rico was on the defensive side of a narrow 0.160-second score on Tuesday at Grandview Speedway ahead of Brad Sweet.

Coming from the outside of row two, Abreu bided his time in the early stages as Christopher Bell controlled the opening nine laps before lap traffic became the deciding factor. The #24 took the point on Lap 10 and survived several restarts and a near last-lap pass to make it back-to-back wins in the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series.

Abreu has won four of the last six Kubota High Limit Racing events - pushing more than $100,000 in earnings over the last month - while extending his total to 16 career trips to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane.

The 0.160-second margin of victory was the fourth-closest in series history behind Sweet vs. McFadden at 34 (0.012), McFadden vs. Sweet at Butler (0.063), and Abreu vs. Peck at Kokomo (0.101).

Championship leader Brad Sweet bounced back from a rough New York outing with a runner-up effort aboard the Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts #49.

Closing out the podium was Christopher Bell in his second-ever Kubota High Limit Racing event, earning an exciting third-place finish in the iconic Kreitz Racing #69K car.

Rounding out the top-10 at Grandview was Anthony Macri, Aaron Reutzel, Brent Marks, Spencer Bayston, Danny Dietrich, Tyler Courtney, and Tanner Thorson.

ZERO TO HERO: Justin Peck's Redemption at Ransomville Delivers High Limit Win for Rudeen Racing

Peck is 7th Different Winner This Season; Rudeen is 17th Different Winning Team in Series History

KOKOMO, IND. (May 12, 2025) Justin Peck has experienced all of the emotions this week with Kubota High Limit Racing; suffering the agony of defeat at Kokomo Speedway and the thrill of victory at Ransomville Speedway.

On Monday, he led 39 and 3/4 laps in the Driven2SaveLives Monday MAYhem, but lost the race by 0.101-seconds at the checkered flag in devastating fashion. He bounced back on Friday as the series traveled to New York and scored his first Kubota High Limit Racing victory since joining Rudeen Racing.

The Monrovia, Indiana native came from the outside of row two and trailed early leaders Tyler Courtney and Rico Abreu. The Ford Performance #26 came to life as lap traffic came into play, going by Abreu for second on Lap 13 and promptly passing Courtney for the lead on Lap 15.

Peck survived the one and only restart of the race on Lap 21 of 30, mostly enjoying clean air before back markers during the final two circuits created an eerily-similar situation to Monday as Reutzel and Courtney closed quickly. However, unlike last time, the #26 was not to be denied and Peck held on for his third-career trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane.

After a pair of wins with Buch Motorsports in 2023 at Kokomo Speedway and 2024 at Eldora Speedway, Peck has now delivered the first-ever Kubota High Limit Racing win for Rudeen Racing at Ransomville Speedway.

Making a last-lap move, Tyler Courtney put his Clauson-Marshall Racing, NOS Energy Drink #7BC into the runner-up position - making it consecutive finishes of 2nd, 4th, 4th, 2nd in the last week. "Sunshine" is now only 29-points out of the championship lead with Kubota High Limit Racing.

For the first time since late March at Central Arizona, Aaron Reutzel found his way back on the podium with Kubota High Limit Racing. The former Ransomville winner was bound for a P2 bid before slipping to third on the final lap aboard his Ridge & Sons Racing #87.

Rounding out the top-10 in Ransomville, New York was Rico Abreu, Danny Varin, Brent Marks, Jordan Poirier, Lucas Wolfe, Jonathan Preston, and Tanner Thorson.

MAYHEM ON A MONDAY: Rico Abreu Stuns Justin Peck in Sensational Finish with High Limit at Kokomo Speedway

Abreu Wins by 0.011-Seconds with Last-Lap, Last-Corner Pass after Peck Led 39 & 3/4 Laps

KOKOMO, IND. (May 12, 2025) The Driven2SaveLives Monday MAYhem event lived up to the name and the hype of "Indiana's Baddest Bullring" was exceeded when Kubota High Limit Racing kicked off the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series in jaw-dropping fashion at Kokomo Speedway.

When the 9:05pm checkered flag waved, the Kokomo grandstands were jumping for joy as Rico Abreu shocked Justin Peck in the final corner of the final lap, edging him by 0.101-seconds to steal a $20,000 payday.

Peck controlled 99% of the race from the outside pole, handling an onslaught of lap traffic before he lost it in heartbreaking fashion over the last 100 feet after leading 39 and 3/4 laps. The agony of defeat on his face post-race while Abreu climbed atop his wing said it all.

For Abreu, it's his latest conquest amidst an outstanding early-season hot streak. Over the last four weeks, the #24 won back-to-back shows at Knoxville Raceway (one with the World of Outlaws) and then three Kubota High Limit Racing features in four tries at Texas Motor Speedway, Lakeside Speedway, and Kokomo Speedway. He's cleared more than $70,000 in earnings over the six-race stretch.

His 15th trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane extends his record as the winningest driver in Kubota High Limit Racing history and makes him the first driver to reach three wins with the series in 2025.

While the loss came in heartbreaking fashion for Peck, the Rudeen Racing team still has plenty of positives to look at. They're on a streak of three-consecutive podium finishes with Kubota High Limit Racing since putting a new Ford Performance power plant under the hood.

Behind the lead duo, Brad Sweet earned his ninth podium in 11 races to extend his championship lead to 52-points aboard the Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts #49.

Rounding out the top-five was former USAC National Sprint Car champions Tyler Courtney and Brady Bacon. Closing out the top-10 was Kyle Larson, Aaron Reutzel, Daison Pursley, Brent Marks, and Emerson Axsom.

ON THE FENCE: Corey Day Rides the Wall at Tri-City Speedway to Second High Limit Win of Year

Jason Meyers Racing No. 14BC Team Joins Reutzel, Sweet & Abreu as Multi-Time Winners in 2025

GRANITE CITY, ILL. (May 10, 2025) Corey Day comes back on tour with Kubota High Limit Racing for a week or so, and it's like he never left at all.

Earning his second win of the season in five tries, the 19-year-old Clovis, California native came from the fourth starting spot to earn a $12,000 payday at Tri-City Speedway for his ninth career trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane.

The moment of the race came on Lap 10 when the Jason Meyers Racing, Meyers Constructors No. 14BC pulled a sensational "diamond" maneuver in turns three and four, cutting down and flying by both Brad Sweet and Tanner Thorson in one corner to take control of the lead by 0.099-seconds.

From there, Day paced the final 20 laps of the race but experienced his fair share of close calls between beating down the outside wall and encountering lap traffic in the closing stages.

Ultimately, it was a 1.763-second margin of victory for Day and the No. 14BC - extending their early-season success with runs of 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th, and 1st in their only five tries in 2025.

Brad Sweet enjoyed a championship level bounce back following a DNF from the night before, finishing second at Tri-City. That extends the championship lead to 49-points for the Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts No. 49.

Justin Peck put the Rudeen Racing, Ford Performance No. 26 on the podium for the second-straight night since putting a new Ford power plant under the hood.

Championship contenders Tyler Courtney and Brent Marks closed out the top-five to minimize the damage in the title chase.

Two of the biggest performers of the night ended with DNF's in the result category as early leader Tanner Thorson suffered a flat right rear and hard-charging Spencer Bayston saw his night end when he bounced into the wall while running third and chasing Sweet.

Rounding out the top-10 at Tri-City was Chase Randall, Danny Sams III, Kasey Kahne, Ayrton Gennette, and Cory Eliason.

KANSAS CITY CHAOS: Rico Abreu Wins Wild Feature at Lakeside Speedway

Abreu, Madsen, Sweet & Larson Involved in Dramatic Lap 10 Crash in Hasty Bake Grills Kansas City Clash

KANSAS CITY, KANS. (May 9, 2025) You'd have thought a full moon was out on Friday when the Hasty Bake Grills Kansas City Clash captivated the attention of a near standing-room-only crowd at Lakeside Speedway.

The 30-lap main event saw three different leaders with the climax of the race coming on Lap 10 when four of the top-six contenders were eliminated in a single, jaw-dropping circuit.

First, early leader Austin McCarl dropped out with mechanical issues and then chaos followed suit right behind him. With Kerry Madsen then controlling the top spot, Rico Abreu entered the picture and went side-by-side down the backstretch. The duo collided at entry to turn three with Abreu's #24 going hopping, Madsen's #55 going spinning.

The drama escalated when Brad Sweet had nowhere to avoid and slammed into Madsen, sending both cars flipping. As they careened out of control, Kyle Larson was unable to escape and took a big hit from Madsen's car coming down.

Somehow, Abreu's #24 escaped with minimal-to-no damage and he was able to continue with the lead while Madsen, Sweet & Larson were all eliminated.

Restarting with 20 to go, Abreu controlled the lead from there and cruised to his second-straight win with Kubota High Limit Racing - making it four-straight weekends with a win for the #24 camp. Over the last week, they've netted $37,500 in two High Limit races to push his total to 14 career wins with the series.

Tyler Courtney closed quickly in the final laps aboard his NOS Energy Drink #7BC, but ultimately fell short by 0.519-seconds at the checkered flag. It was a big points night for the Clauson-Marshall Racing team with Brad Sweet suffering a DNF, cutting the gap down to 42-points.

Justin Peck and Rudeen Racing rounded out the podium for their second top-three of the season with Kubota High Limit Racing.

Closing out the top-10 at Lakeside was Spencer Bayston, Scott Bogucki, Emerson Axsom, Corey Day, Aaron Reutzel, Brent Marks, and Tanner Holmes.

NON-STOP CHASE: Rico Abreu Beats Kyle Larson in Texas Traffic for Stockyard Stampede Score

Kubota High Limit Racing Returns to TMS Dirt Track for All-In Championship Weekend on October 17-18

FORT WORTH, TEX. (May 3, 2025) "Everything Bigger in Texas," including the crowds and the action on-track when it comes to Saturday's Stockyard Stampede finale at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.

A jam-packed grandstands played witness to a non-stop chase through lap traffic as Rico Abreu, Kyle Larson, and Brad Sweet hosted a high-speed chess match in a 30-lapper that took seven minutes and 30 seconds to go green-to-checkered.

Winning the FK Rod Ends Dash and earning the pole position, Kyle Larson was in the catbird seat as the green flag waved, but it was outside pole sitter Rico Abreu acing the start and riding the high line to the early lead.

From there, it was all about traffic as Abreu's No. 24, Larson's No. 57, and Sweet's No. 49 danced through there back markers and provided a thrilling duel for Fort Worth fans. There was three-wide splits with traffic and numerous close calls before Abrey ultimately topped Larson by 1.020-seconds at the line.

That's three-straight weekends with a win for Rico Abreu Racing and his first Kubota High Limit Racing victory of the season. The St. Helena, California native has regained sole position of the all-time wins record with his 13th trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane.

After a NASCAR Xfinity Series win earlier today at the big track, Kyle Larson ended his busy day at Texas Motor Speedway with a runner-up on the dirt track. He'll run his fourth race of the weekend tomorrow afternoon in the Hendrick Motorsports No. 5 during the NASCAR Cup Series race.

Aboard the gold NAPA Auto Parts No. 49, the results were silver and bronze this weekend for Brad Sweet and Kasey Kahne Racing. After a runner-up finish on Thursday, "The Big Cat" extended his championship lead thanks to a third-place run on Saturday.

Texan Sam Hafertepe Jr. and NASCAR prodigy Corey Day closed out the top-five. Rounding out the top-10 was Aaron Reutzel, Brent Marks, Spencer Bayston, Justin Peck, and Kasey Kahne.

TEXAS TITAN: Brent Marks Wins Back-to-Back at TMS at Stockyard Stampede Begins

FORT WORTH, TEX. (May 1, 2025)Brent Marks has found a second home at the Texas Motor Speedway.

The Myerstown, Pennsylvania native now owns three victories in five tries at the Fort Worth dirt track, including back-to-back wins with Kubota High Limit Racing. On Thursday, he added a Stockyard Stampede score to go along with his $50,000 check from last year's All-In Championship Weekend.

Starting from the pole on Thursday, Marks controlled all 25 laps but had his hands full dealing with several early-race restarts, one close call with Brad Sweet, and a load of lap traffic in the closing stages.

The win gave the Murray-Marks Motorsports No. 19 team their first Casm Safety Products Win Sticker of the season and marked their fourth-career trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane with Kubota High Limit Racing.

Chasing Marks for the entirety of the race and coming close to overtaking him on a Lap 9 restart was Brad Sweet, who finished second by 1.420-seconds at the line. It was the sixth podium in seven High Limit races for the Kasey Kahne Racing No. 49 team, which debuted a new-look gold design to celebrate 100 years of NAPA Auto Parts.

Completing the podium was Sunnyvale, Texas native Sam Hafertepe Jr. with a stellar performance in his home state. A third-place finish for the Hill's Racing No. 15H puts them alongside Kyle Larson and the Silva Motorsports No. 57 as the only non-full-time teams to podium with both Kubota High Limit Racing and the World of Outlaws in 2025.

Closing out the top-five was another Texan Chase Randall with a season-best finish of fourth and "Sunshine" Tyler Courtney in fifth aboard the Clauson-Marshall Racing No. 7BC.

Rounding out the top-10 at Texas on Thursday was Kasey Kahne, Landon Crawley, Rico Abreu, Kyle Larson, and Tanner Thorson.

WHAT'S ON THE TABLE: It's Kokomo, Fremont, Ransomville & Utica-Rome in Busy Week for Kubota High Limit Racing

Stops in Indiana, Ohio & New York Scheduled This Week

KOKOMO, IN (May 12, 2025) – Four races in three states over six days highlights a busy, busy week for Kubota High Limit Racing.

It starts with a pair of Roto-Rooter Midweek Series events with Driven2SaveLives Monday MAYhem at Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway on Monday, May 12 and then the first-ever series visit to Ohio’s Fremont Speedway come Wednesday, May 14. When the weekend comes, New York is the focus with stops at Ransomville Speedway and Utica-Rome Speedway on the docket.

With 10 races complete in 2025, the championship chase has tightened with Tyler Courtney, Rico Abreu, Brent Marks, and Aaron Reutzel able to gain ground on Brad Sweet following misfortune last week. Every point will be crucial this week as the High Rollers face a litany of lethal locals who could steal big-time victories.

Let's look at what's on the table as we get busy this week:

THE MONTH OF MAY: They say “racer’s race,” and Kyle Larson is the ultimate racer. After winning Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series event at Kansas Speedway in dominating fashion, “Yung Money” has flown to Indianapolis. He’ll climb back in Paul Silva’s No. 57 Sprint Car for another Kubota High Limit Racing event at Kokomo Speedway on Monday night, and then his second attempt at the Indianapolis 500 officially begins on Tuesday afternoon with the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team.

All told, the Elk Grove, California native will be turning completive laps in a racecar on 19 of the 31 days this May. Through the first 11 days of the month, he’s already won with the NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Cup Series, and completed three Kubota High Limit Racing events.

Larson’s first love – Sprint Car Racing – will bookend his attempt at “The Double,” with hopes of completing all 1,100 miles of the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on May 25. Before it begins, he’ll run Kokomo Speedway on May 12 and after it ends, he’ll be back on the dirt at Lawrenceburg Speedway on Friday, May 30.

INDIANA’S BADDEST BULLRING: To kick off a busy week on the road with Kubota High Limit Racing, we’re returning to Kokomo Speedway for the third year on Monday, May 12. The Driven2SaveLives Monday MAYhem comes highly anticipated as it launches the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series, promotes the importance of organ donation, comes with a $20,000-to-win, $1,500-to-start purse, and delivers some of the most epic racing we’ll see all year long.

The previous two High Limit events at the Kokomo, Indiana bullring were won by “Hoosier State” natives with Monrovia, Indiana gasser Justin Peck beating Kyle Larson in 2023 and Indianapolis, Indiana star Tyler Courtney topping Buddy Kofoid in 2024.

Along with the usual cast of High Rollers, notable names such as Brady Bacon, Emerson Axsom, Parker Price-Miller, Cale Thomas, Cory Eliason, Kyle Cummins, Logan Seavey, and more highlight an expected car count approaching the 40s.

THE TRACK THAT ACTION BUILT: On Wednesday, the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series continues in Ohio as Kubota High Limit Racing visits Fremont Speedway for the first time ever. It’s a place that many High Rollers haven’t raced in several years with only two full-timers – Tyler Courtney and Aaron Reutzel – owning victories there with the All Star Circuit of Champions.

The technical short track is known for producing action that favors the experienced local competitors and could produce a first-time winner with Kubota High Limit Racing. Names like Craig Mintz, Cap Henry, Kalib Henry, Zane DeVault, Chris Andrews, D.J. Foos, and Darin Naida are among the many to keep an eye on come Wednesday night.

SLICKY, NOT STICKY: When the weekend rolls around, Kubota High Limit Racing is heading to “The Empire State” with a pair of New York dates on the schedule. The northeast is known for their especially slick surfaces requiring slower, steadier, and smoother finesse from competitors – another archetype that allows the local studs to shine.

On Friday, Ransomville Speedway joins the calendar for the first time with High Limit, hosting their first National Sprint Car race since Aaron Reutzel won with the World of Outlaws in 2021. On Saturday, the series goes back Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, NY – where Rico Abreu topped Justin Peck last year.

In New York, keep tabs on guys like Danny Varin, Mark Smith, Davie Franek, Jared Zimbardi, Matt Farnham, Jordan Thomas, and Jordan Porier, among others, when it slicks up and slows down.

CHAMPIONSHIP SHAKEUP: A weekend in the heartland of America brought major changes to the top of the championship standings with Kubota High Limit Racing. A Lap 10 scrum on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway is what caused it all, as title-controller Brad Sweet was left with nowhere to go in Rico Abreu and Kerry Madsen’s dustup – resulting in his first-ever DNF with the series.

After Friday, it was only 80-points that separated the entire top-five contenders. More dramatics followed on Saturday, however, as frontrunners Rico Abreu and Aaron Reutzel encountered their own troubles, which also resulted in DNF marks at Tri-City Speedway.

All told, Sweet’s lead is now at his car number with the Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts No. 49 ahead by 49-points. The closest contender remains Tyler Courtney and the Clauson-Marshall Racing No. 7BC with Brent Marks’ No. 19 (-71), Rico Abreu’s No. 24 (-97), and Aaron Reutzel and the Ridge & Sons Racing No. 87 (-118) following him.

MAKING GAINS: A handful of Kubota High Limit Racing full-timers enjoyed successful showings over the weekend at Lakeside and Tri-City, bringing some always-needed confidence as the season heats up entering summer.

Although Kasey Kahne’s top-10 streak ended on Friday night, the KKR, HendrickCars.com, Kahne Screen Print No. 9 rebounded in a big way on Saturday with a strong run from 25th-to-8th to take the Rod End Supply Hard Charger Award.

Strapping in a new Ford Performance powerplant before the weekend, Justin Peck and Rudeen Racing immediately hit the ground running with new ponies under the hood. He was the only driver to podium both nights last weekend and now heads to one of his best tracks in the country at Kokomo.

Texan Chase Randall needed his first provisional on Friday, but made it count with a Rod End Supply Hard Charger Award almost into the top-10. He found more speed come Saturday with a near top-five result, finishing sixth at Tri-City as he continues to lead the Rayce Rudeen Foundation Rookie of the Year chase.

After a rugged start to their pairing, Spencer Bayston and Jason Meyers Racing have turned into one of the fastest cars on tour – it just comes down to executing now. The Sander Engineering #14 came from 13th to a season-best fourth at Lakeside, then was chasing Corey Day and Brad Sweet for Saturday’s win before the treacherous Tri-City track bit ‘em and ended the night with a DNF. They’ll be contenders at Kokomo where both team and driver have shined before.

A trio of B-Main wins and a trio of Hard Charger Awards highlighted the first nine-race stretch of 2025 for Tanner Thorson, but the highlight of the season came on Saturday as the Rod Gross Motorsports No. 88 team turned into winning contenders. He led the opening nine laps at Tri-City and remained in the hunt all race long until a flat right rear hampered the end result.

Florida man Danny Sams III picked up his first top-10 of the season with Kubota High Limit Racing, finishing seventh on Saturday at Tri-City. It was a big confidence boost for D3 who now returns close to the Randerson Racing shop in Indiana this week.

WHAT'S ON THE TABLE: 81, Lakeside & Tri-City Ready for Kubota High Limit Racing This Week

Wichita, Kansas City, and St. Louis on deck as sprint cars rumble through the heartland

WICHITA, KS (May 6, 2025) – It’s a three-race week for Kubota High Limit Racing with stops scheduled outside of Wichita, Kansas City, and St. Louis as Sprint Cars rumble through the heartland.

On Wednesday, the Evans Building Battle at 81 Speedway serves as the new season opener for the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series. The Park City, Kansas dirt track is hosting Kubota High Limit Racing for the first time ever with a $20,000 payday on the line and 30+ entries expected.

On Friday, a trip down the turnpike will take teams to Lakeside Speedway for the Hasty Bake Kansas City Clash, featuring another $20,000 check and 30+ entries expected. Located a short seven miles down the road from Kansas Speedway, the star-studded event is the perfect kickoff to NASCAR weekend in KC.

On Saturday, a drive across I-70 leads everybody to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois for the third appearance in series history at the STL-area track. It’s the only event 2025 scheduled in Illinois for the Kubota High Limit Sprint Cars.

Let's look at what's on the table as we return to racing this week:

MIDWEEK TAKE TWO: After severe storms knocked out Texarkana 67 Speedway last Wednesday, the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series is now a 10-race mini-series, beginning this Wednesday, May 7 at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas. Located just outside of Wichita, the track will host Kubota High Limit Racing for the first time ever – joining Kansas City’s Lakeside Speedway, where the series races on Friday, as the second “Sunflower State” venue with High Limit.

Five of the 30+ expected entries are former winners at 81, including undefeated Rico Abreu, who has ran two World of Outlaws races and won both. Additional 81 winners include Kyle Larson (2020 All Stars), Aaron Reutzel (2014 NCRA), Brian Brown (2008 NCRA), and Jason Martin (2023 ASCS).

ON THE BOARD: Speaking of Abreu, he was one of two drivers to leave Texas Motor Speedway’s Stockyard Stampede last weekend with their first Kubota High Limit Racing win of 2025.

On Thursday, Brent Marks made it back-to-back wins at TMS, after also topping last year’s $50,000 All-In Championship Weekend. His last six High Limit finishes showcase runs of 3rd, 4th, 8th, 8th, 1st, 7th and has him sitting third in the points (-86). The Murray-Marks Motorsports No. 19 team could build more momentum this week, especially come Tri-City on Saturday, where he won last year.

On Saturday, Rico Abreu held off Kyle Larson in a non-stop chase through lap traffic for his first High Limit win of 2025, but his third-straight weekend with a win. Winning from the outside pole, he became the first DURST Dice Roll winner of the year, pushing his winnings to $17,500 at Texas Motor Speedway. This week, he’ll visit two places he’s already won at before, including 81 on Wednesday and Tri-City on Saturday.

PODIUM PROFICIENT: Brad Sweet’s unrivaled consistency is hard to beat and seven podiums in eight events is the proof in the pudding. His worst finish with Kubota High Limit Racing this year is fourth place at Central Arizona, and he’s averaging an absurd average finish of 2.3. That success has built an 83-point lead in the championship chase for the Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts No. 49 team.

Tyler Courtney and Clauson-Marshall Racing are his closest competitors, but there’s a heap of contenders under that blanket with Brent Marks and Murray-Marks Motorsports (-86), Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu Racing (-98), and Aaron Reutzel and Ridge & Sons Racing (-105) all in the mix.

DAYTONA TO DIRT: A trio of NASCAR Cup Series stars are briefly on the road with Kubota High Limit Racing, following the series from Texas Motor Speedway to Wichita’s 81 Speedway on Wednesday and Kansas City’s Lakeside Speedway on Friday.

Hendrick Motorsports No. 5 driver, Kyle Larson, will remain a constant threat in the Silva Motorsports No. 57, fresh off a runner-up effort to Rico Abreu at TMS. Already a 13-time winner this year, “Yung Money” could make it 14 or 15 as we head to 81 and Lakeside, both excellent venues for the Elk Grove, California native.

Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54 pilot, Ty Gibbs, is continuing to dabble in Sprint Car Racing as he learns the new-to-him discipline. Aboard Chad Boat’s CB Industries No. 84, Gibbs qualified for his first two Kubota High Limit Racing A-Mains in Las Vegas and Texas, and now looks to get more laps under his belt at 81 and Lakeside.

Hyak Motorsports No. 47 runner, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., will fly the NOS Energy Drink colors on his No. 17JR Sprint Car as he, dad, and company follow the series north to Kansas. RSJ topped Saturday’s B-Main at TMS to become the seventh driver to qualify for a Kubota High Limit Racing A-Main every year since 2022 – joining Kyle Larson, Tyler Courtney, Brent Marks, Justin Peck, Brady Bacon, and Justin Sanders.

PAY-DAY IS BACK FOR A BIT: For the next week-plus, Corey Day is back at home on the dirt and running up-and-down the road with Kubota High Limit Racing. With some downtime between his NASCAR Truck Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series obligations as a Hendrick Motorsports driver, the Clovis, California 19-year-old is climbing back in the Jason Meyers Racing No. 14BC.

In his first three Kubota Hihg Limit Racing starts of 2025, Day and crew chief Wayne Priddy won the $25,000 season opener at Las Vegas, raced from 21st-to-4th at Tulare, and finished top-five on Saturday at TMS.

Along with the full-time JMR, Sander Engineering No. 14 team with Spencer Bayston, Day and the No. 14BC plan to follow the series from Texas to 81 to Lakeside to Tri-City to Kokomo to Fremont before taking a break as the series goes to New York next weekend.

New York State STOP-DWI Partners with Kubota High Limit Racing for the May 17 Event at Utica-Rome Speedway

(May 5, 2025) NYS STOP DWI will present the return of Kubota High Limit Racing at Utica-Rome Speedway on Saturday, May 17. Established in 1981, STOP DWI New York is a statewide initiative focused on reducing alcohol and drug-related traffic crashes.

New York State STOP-DWI will aim to educate race fans on the responsibility of making smart choices, having a plan should any type of impairment-inducing substance be used, and keeping themselves and others safe on the roads.

“High Limit Racing brings together thousands of fans from across the Capital Region and beyond—families, friends, and racing enthusiasts who live for the rush of race day,” said Tracy Mance, NYS STOP DWI Chair. “But with that excitement comes responsibility and that’s where NYS STOP-DWI steps in. Our mission is simple: to eliminate impaired driving through education, prevention, and community engagement. Partnering with High Limit Racing allows STOP-DWI to meet people where they are—right in the heart of the action—delivering life-saving messages to an audience that listens and cares."

This collaboration combines the wide reach of motorsports with the public safety mission of STOP-DWI, creating an opportunity to shift behaviors, start conversations, and save lives. New York State STOP-DWI is also promoting its STOP-DWI Have a Plan app. Available on both Apple and Android devices, the Have a Plan app is a free mobile tool that that helps users make smart decisions. With the app, users can find available non-driving transportation options, save emergency contacts, access local taxi and rideshare options, and get tips on planning a safe night out.

“In motorsports we focus a lot on driver, team and fan safety,” said Kendra Jacobs, Chief Marketing & Events Officer at Kubota High Limit Racing. “That safety, however, expands far beyond the gates of a race track. We’re an entertainment sports industry and want fans to have a good time, but with that good time comes a lot of responsibility. Partnering with New York State STOP-DWI emphasizes the importance of making sure every one gets home safely and carries those same plans and actions every time they go out.”

Returning Kubota High Limit Racing Utica-Rome Speedway winner, Rico Abreu, will return for the May 17 event, as well as Brent Marks, Brad Sweet, Tyler Courtney and the rest of the full-time “High Rollers”.

WHAT'S ON THE TABLE: Texarkana's Midweek Opener and TMS' Stockyard Stampede Reignite Kubota High Limit Racing Season

Busiest Stretch of Year Includes 18 Races in 35 Days

TEXARKANA, AR (April 28, 2025) – After a month off, Kubota High Limit Racing is ready to kick the 2025 season into full swing with 18 races over 35 days; and it all begins at Texarkana 67 Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway this week.

First up is a trip to Arkansas as Texarkana hosts the series for the first time on Wednesday, April 30 with the 11-race Roto-Rooter Midweek Series beginning. After that, Fort Worth's Texas Motor Speedway is calling as the Stockyard Stampede expands to two nights with racing on Thursday, May 1 and Saturday, May 3 at the TMS Dirt Track.

Let's look at what's on the table as we return to racing this week:

GONE RACING: While Kubota High Limit Racing hasn't held any series events over the last month, the High Rollers have kept themselves plenty busy with action all across the country. Here's a look at where and how each full-timer performed in April:

Brad Sweet - Finished 9th with WoO at Knoxville

Tyler Courtney - Finished 4th with WoO at Knoxville, 3rd with WoO at Tri-State

Aaron Reutzel - WoO top-5s at I-55 and Knoxville, Won 360 race at Knoxville

Brent Marks - Finished 6th in Knoxville weekly

Rico Abreu - Back-to-back wins at Knoxville, one with WoO and one weekly

Justin Peck - Finished 15th/11th with WoO at I-55, ran 7th in Knoxville weekly

Kasey Kahne - Successful return to NASCAR Xfinity Series, ran 8th at Port Royal

Tanner Thorson - Finished 8th with WoO at I-55, won POWRi race at Creek County

Spencer Bayston - Ran three WoO races, best result of stretch 10th in Knoxville weekly

Danny Sams III - Contested I-55 weekend with WoO

Daison Pursley - Five total events between WoO and USAC, best run 3rd in Midgets at Kokomo

Brenham Crouch - Competed in four Pennsylvania events, top finish of 8th at Port Royal

Sye Lynch - Did not race

PICKING BACK UP: Need a refresher on how the point standings stack up following six races out west? We've got you covered.

The Kasey Kahne Racing No. 49 team has picked up where they left off with defending champion Brad Sweet building a 47-point advantage thanks to a six-for-six top-10 streak to start the year. Last year's championship runner-up is his closest contender at the moment with Tyler Courtney and the Clauson-Marshall Racing No. 7BC waiting to pounce. After leaving Las Vegas dead last (14th) in the standings, Aaron Reutzel has willed the Ridge & Sons Racing No. 87 all the way up to third and only 77-points back from "The Big Cat." Expected title contenders like Brent Marks (-82) and Rico Abreu (-92) remain within reach as we fire up the busiest stretch of the season.

Behind them is Justin Peck (-102), Kasey Kahne (-105), Chase Randall (-157), Tanner Thorson (-159), Spencer Bayston (-177), Danny Sams III (-189), Daison Pursley (-199), Brenham Crouch (-208), and Sye Lynch (-261).

MIDWEEK SERIES BEGINS: An integral part in the creation of the series, midweek racing remains a focus of Kubota High Limit Racing. In 2025, the Midweek Series welcomes Roto-Rooter Plumbing as the title sponsor of the 11-race mini-series which takes racers to eight different states and brings midweek sprint car action to living rooms worldwide.

After being rained out last year, Texarkana's 67 Speedway is slated to serve as the opener of the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series this Wednesday, April 30. The series begins with a bang as we go four-straight weeks with Roto-Rooter Midweek Series events ranging from Texarkana to 81 to Kokomo and Fremont to Grandview.

The first two seasons of the Midweek Series have provided intense championship battles with Kyle Larson besting Rico Abreu by a mere seven points in 2023 and then Tyler Courtney topping Brad Sweet via tiebreaker in 2024.

Roto-Rooter Midweek Series Schedule:

Wednesday, April 30 - Texarkana 67 Speedway (Texarkana, Arkansas)

Wednesday, May 7 - 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas)

Monday, May 12 - Kokomo Speedway (Kokomo, Indiana)

Wednesday, May 14 - Fremont Speedway (Fremont, Ohio)

Tuesday, May 20 - Grandview Speedway (Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania)

Tuesday, June 3 - 141 Speedway (Francis Creek, Wisconsin)

Wednesday, June 4 - Red Cedar Speedway (Menomonie, Wisconsin)

Tuesday, June 10 - Eagle Raceway (Eagle, Nebraska)

Wednesday, June 25 - Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, Missouri)

Tuesday, July 22 - Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pennsylvania)

Wednesday, October 15 - Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Missouri)

Texas Tune-Up: With the Stockyard Stampede being elevated to a two-day spring show - this Thursday and Saturday - at Texas Motor Speedway, it offers teams an extra night to prepare for the All-In Championship Weekend on October 17-18. Tickets are already on-sale for the $50,000-to-win Kubota High Limit Racing season finale, too.

Last year, Brent Marks was the most consistent High Roller at TMS, topping a POWRi show and then finishing 6th-4th-1st with High Limit, including that big $50,000 final check. Brad Sweet was another winner at the Fort Worth facility, as was Aaron Reutzel, who swept POWRi's fall weekend in his home state.

NASCAR NAMES: Sharing the slate with the NASCAR Truck Series (SpeedyCash.com 250 at 7pm Friday), NASCAR Xfinity Series (Andy's Frozen Custard 300 at 1pm Saturday), and NASCAR Cup Series (WÜRTH 400 at 2:30pm Sunday), it's a dream weekend for race fans at Texas Motor Speedway as Kubota High Limit Racing also brings Sprint Cars to the dirt track on Thursday and Saturday night.

Kyle Larson, already a 12-time winner in 2025 with eight podiums in eight Sprint Car starts, will be with the series all week from Texarkana to TMS in the potent Silva Motorsports No. 57. A three-time NASCAR Cup Series winner this year in his Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20, Christopher Bell will try again to make his Kubota High Limit Racing debut on Thursday night at TMS in the Kreitz Racing No. 69K.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is expected to at least compete at Texarkana on Wednesday in his NOS Energy Drink No. 17JR Sprint Car. Corey Day, who won the season-opener at Las Vegas, will return to the Jason Meyers Racing No. 14BC for at least Thursday at TMS before getting back on the pavement as a Hendrick Motorsports development driver.

CBell is scheduled for Thursday only, opening the seat for Daryn Pittman on Saturday, who has led laps in all three of his Kubota High Limit Racing attempts in the Kreitz Racing No. 69K. Last fall, Pittman, the 2013 World of Outlaws champion, finished P2 both nights at Texas Motor Speedway.

MAKE YOUR PICKS: As Kubota High Limit Racing returns to the track this week, remember that you have the chance to win real money on the series in 2025. Between betting on outright winners or making better/worse picks, you can now level up your interest on the action. If you head to NXTBets.com/PlayHLR, you'll find exclusive sign-up bonus offers and learn how/where to play.

Through the first six races, Aaron Reutzel's victory at Perris Auto Speedway supplied the biggest payday to those who picked up his +1500 opening odds - meaning a $10 bet would pay $160 or a $20 bet would pay $320. Heading into Texarkana on Wednesday, the current favorites include Brad Sweet (+266), Kyle Larson (+310), Rico Abreu (+585), Tyler Courtney (+1289), and Brent Marks (+2429).

SO CAL LIGHTNING SPRINTS

California Highway Patrol Officer Jeff Dyer Speeds to SCLS Victory at Barona Speedway

El Cajon, CA — California Highway Patrol officer Jeff Dyer made the 150-mile journey from his home in Yucca Valley to Barona Speedway last Saturday night and walked away with a commanding win in the first SoCal Lightning Sprint Car Series (SCLS) points race of 2025. Dyer’s impressive drive, in the first SCLS wingless race of the year, earned him not only the victory but also the race Hard Charger Award after starting sixth.

San Diego’s Chase Wilson started the main event on the pole, with 2024 Rookie of the Year Cody Benker of Alpine alongside. The second row featured past CLS Rookie of the Year Jason Arnolde and red-hot Parker Dumas, who entered the night having won four of the previous five SCLS main events dating back to 2024.  Peter Benker and Dyer made up the third row.

At the drop of the green flag, young Cody Benker jumped to an early lead with Wilson and Dumas in close pursuit. Dumas quickly surged past Wilson and then overtook Benker coming out of turn two on the second lap, continuing his recent streak of dominance. But Dyer, running third at the time, had other plans on his mind.

As Dumas extended his lead, Dyer methodically reeled in Benker. By lap five, Dyer was challenging hard on the low side and finally took over second place at the end of lap seven. Just as Dyer advanced, Dumas reached lapped traffic with a half-straightaway advantage.

That lead began to shrink rapidly. By lap 14, Dyer (Straight Time Stirrups/Haircuts By Susie/Jobu Racing/Justice Brothers/Fonseca Racing/Specialty Fasteners/Blud Racing Lubricants/Diablo Chassis/GSXR #4) was within two car lengths and had shifted his line, hugging the bottom through turns one and two while moving up the track in turns three and four. The strategic change paid off, and Dyer swept into the lead at the end of lap 15.

Once out front, Dyer, who has faced more than his share of bad luck in both Lightning Sprints and the USAC/CRA 410 Sprint Car ranks this season, was unstoppable. He pulled away to take the checkered flag by a comfortable half-straight margin and claimed the $500 winner’s share in a green-to-checkers, caution-free race.

Parker Dumas finished second, while rising star Cody Benker secured his best-ever SCLS finish with a third place result, just ahead of his proud father, Peter. El Cajon’s Deejay Dumas impressed by charging from ninth to round out the top five.

Prior to the main event, Peter Benker beat Parker Dumas and Wilson to the checkers in the first eight-lap heat.  A few moments later, Dyer captured the second heat over Arnolde and Cody Benker.

After the first three races (the first two were non-points events) of 2025, Parker Dumas boasts a stellar start to the campaign with a 1.33 average finish rate.

Looking ahead to the next SCLS race at Barona Speedway on June 7th, Jeff Dyer leads the standings by six points over Dumas. Cody and Peter Benker are tied for third, with Deejay Dumas rounding out the top five.

SoCal Lightning Sprints Return to Barona Speedway This Saturday, May 10

Kim Arringdale-Unipan

El Cajon, CA — After being sidelined by a rainout two weeks ago, the SoCal Lightning Sprint Car Series (SCLS) is set to roar back to life this Saturday night, May 10, at its home track—Barona Speedway. This weekend’s event marks the first race since the SCLS season openers at Imperial Valley Raceway during the California Mid-Winter Fair in early March.

Saturday’s Barona opener brings added excitement with an enhanced purse, thanks to the generous support of Peter & Missy Benker, Brent Horn, and SCLS President Dustin Dumas. The winner of the night’s main event will take home $500.00. Additionally, Layton Kramer has posted two unique bonuses: $50.00 for the Hard Charger and another $50.00 for the driver running third on lap seven. Dumas has also added $200.00 to the total purse, making for an exciting and rewarding night of racing.

Barona Speedway, the long-running quarter-mile dirt oval in San Diego County, hosted the SCLS seven times during the club’s inaugural season last year. Alpine’s Peter Benker led the pack with three wins at the venue. Other Barona winners included 2024 SCLS champion Ryan Dumas, his brother Parker Dumas, Ramona’s David Taft, and Lakeside veteran Brent Sexton.

Despite Benker’s three Barona wins in 2023, he finished second in the season championship, trailing Ryan Dumas by 62 points. San Diego racers Chase Wilson and Landon Dalton claimed third and fourth in the standings, with Parker Dumas finishing fifth. All five drivers are expected to compete this Saturday.

During the season-opening non-points races at Imperial Valley, Parker Dumas made a strong statement by sweeping both main events. Going back to last season, Dumas has four wins in the last five SCLS features.

Saturday’s racing program at Barona Speedway will also feature IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Sport Compacts, Dwarf Cars, Pure Stocks, Mini Dwarfs, and Jr. Sprints. Spectator gates open at 2:00 p.m., with the first green flag set for 6:00 p.m.

·       Seniors, military, EMTs, and kids ages 7–17: $10.00
