CLAST-MINUTE MONEY-MAKER: Carson Macedo and Jason Johnson Racing Earn First-Career Kubota High Limit Racing Win

Macedo Steers #41 to $25,000 Payday at Lernerville's Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XXXIV

SARVER, PA. (July 22, 2025) It took seven tries, but Carson Macedo and Jason Johnson Racing finally enjoyed their first taste of Whiskey Myers Victory Lane with Kubota High Limit Racing on Tuesday night.

Dominating the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XXXIV from start-to-finish, the Albaugh #41 controlled all 35 laps and never received a serious challenge as he cruised through lap traffic to the tune of $25,000 and his first-ever win at Lernerville Speedway.

For Macedo, it was his seventh overall win of the 2025 season and it came in his seventh-career attempt with Kubota High Limit Racing. Following in the footsteps of younger brother Cole - who won at Fremont Speedway last week - the boys from Lemoore, California are forever in the history books as the first pair of siblings to win with the series.

The crazy part? The JJR crew of Philip Dietz, Robby McQuinn, and Adam Zimmerman didn't even know they were coming to Lernerville Speedway until late last night. Now, they'll turn their attention to World of Outlaws events in Central Pennsylvania the rest of the week.

Chasing the Jason Johnson Racing #41 across the line was Tanner Thorson with a $10,000 runner-up effort. It's his fourth-career second-place finish with Kubota High Limit Racing as he remains on the verge of his first-career win with the series. With their run, the Rod Gross Motorsports #88 team overtook command of the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series points with two races left.

Rounding out the podium was Western Pennsylvania hero Sye Lynch of Apollo, PA in third-place. It's his third-straight podium with Kubota High Limit Racing when it comes to the last three races at his home track of Lernerville Speedway.

Closing out the top-five was recently-crowned "The Concrete King" Anthony Macri and beloved Australian James McFadden in the Tarlton Racing ride.

Behind them was Justin Peck, Rico Abreu, Chris Windom, Daison Pursley, and Cory Eliason.

CHA-CHING: Kyle Larson Cashes $100,000 in Eldora's Joker's Jackpot on FS1

Sprint Cars Return to Live National Television with Kubota High Limit Racing

ROSSBURG, OHIO (July 17, 2025) With a national television audience from FS1, Thursday's Joker's Jackpot saw plenty of theatrics with Kubota High Limit Racing at Eldora Speedway.

The $100,000-to-win, 40-lap main event opened with a bang in a scary way as a severe multi-car pileup tore up contenders including Buddy Kofoid, Tyler Courtney, Bill Balog, Brad Sweet, Hunter Schuerenberg, and Brady Bacon.

After extensive clean up, the race resumed with Rico Abreu controlling the opening 20 laps over Kyle Larson and Logan Schuchart as the lead trio danced through lap traffic and against the treacherous wall at "The Big E."

The winning move of the race came after the halfway point when Larson and Abreu swapped sliders back and forth, with the deciding moment coming when Larson's #57 was barely, by what seemed like inches, able to squeeze between Abreu's #24 and the outside wall to secure the lead for good.

It wasn't the final challenge for the top spot, though, as Schuchart, Carson Macedo, and Anthony Macri entered the picture to make it a five-way way for a six-figure payday.

More drama unfolded in the final stages, however, as Schuchart suffered a flat left rear and then Macedo encountered a flat left front after contact with Larson on a critical restart..

After that, Larson cruised down the final stretch and crossed the line with a 2.254-second margin of victory over Anthony Macri. The $100,000 Joker's Jackpot title marked his 10th career win at Eldora Speedway and 9th career win with Kubota High Limit Racing.

Dillsburg, Pennsylvania's Anthony Macri was all smiles after a $25,000 runner-up effort after starting 11th. Early leader Rico Abreu rounded out the podium for a $15,000 payday in his Whiskey Myers "East Texas Hot Rod."

Closing out the top-10 on Thursday was Aaron Reutzel, Corey Day, Sheldon Haudenschild, Garet Williamson, Brian Brown, Logan Schuchart, and Brock Zearfoss.

WIN BIG, FLIP BIGGER: Cole Macedo's First National Tour Victory at Fremont Speedway is Unforgettable

Two-C Racing Pilot Held off Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet for First-Career Kubota High Limit Racing Win

FREMONT, OHIO (July 14, 2025) Cole Macedo's first-ever national touring victory was certainly a night he'll never forget - for all the right reasons, and maybe one small wrong reason.

After a flawless 35 laps at Fremont Speedway - which forced him to fend off the likes of six-time national champion Brad Sweet and global superstar Kyle Larson - Macedo ended up flipping his Two-C Racing No. 2C into turn one after the checkered flag.

The 25-year-old Lemoore, California native was thankfully okay and climbed out of his mangled race car to the roar of the crowd at what is essentially his second home. In the most unique Whiskey Myers Victory Lane ever, Macedo's Two-C was towed to the front stretch after needing a hook to the scales and all.

It was his first-career Kubota High Limit Racing victory, but more importantly to him - his first-ever win on the national level of Sprint Car Racing. A huge momentum boost as he and the Two-C Racing crew prepare for five more nights of racing during Kings Royal week.

His 11th career win at "The Track That Action Built" was extra special as Fremont Speedway and the Ohio racing family became a crucial point on Macedo's journey to becoming a World of Outlaws full-timer in 2025.

Behind Macedo being a one-man thrill show was Kyle Larson with a runner-up finish in his first trip to Fremont since 2012. Behind him, Tyler Courtney rounded out the podium with a last-lap pass to gain a critical four points on Brad Sweet in the championship chase.

Closing out the top-10 was Sweet, Brent Marks, Daison Pursley, Rico Abreu, Joel Myers Jr, Tanner Thorson, and Danny Dietrich.

SUNSHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND: Tyler Courtney Takes First High Limit Win of Year for $25,000 at Lucas Oil

"Sunshine" Tops Thrilling Mid-Race Battle with Aaron Reutzel, Tanner Thorson, Brad Sweet & Rico Abreu

WHEATLAND, MO. (June 28, 2025) 22 races later, Tyler Courtney returned to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane with Kubota High Limit Racing, and he saved it for a big $25,000 payday in Lucas Oil Speedway's Diamond Classic.

After 11 top-five finishes and four runner-up results, "Sunshine" finally found his way back atop the charts in Saturday's 35-lap finale - coming out on top of a hectic five-way war for the lead through lap traffic.

It was Aaron Reutzel, Tanner Thorson, Tyler Courtney, Brad Sweet, and Rico Abreu, all five battling under a blanket as they bobbed and weaved through back markers.

Officially, Reutzel controlled the opening 14 laps, Tanner Thorson led the next three circuits, and then Tyler Courtney held the point for the final 18 laps. At the checkered flag, it was a monumental 6.166-second margin of victory, but that's not indicative of how thrilling the race was near the mid-point.

The win marked the seventh of Courtney's career with Kubota High Limit Racing and keeps the Clauson-Marshall Racing, NOS Energy Drinks No. 7BC as one of the five title contenders amid an incredible points battle.

Aaron Reutzel wound up with a $10,000 runner-up score on Saturday, meaning that his Ridge & Sons Racing, PowerPlus No. 87 now has sole possession of the championship lead with Kubota High Limit Racing.

Rico Abreu rounded out the podium to keep his No. 24 in championship contention as well.

Closing out the top-10 at Lucas Oil was Tanner Thorson, Brad Sweet, Brent Marks, Sye Lynch, Daison Pursley, Justin Peck, and Kasey Kahne.

RICO'S GEM: Abreu Becomes Third Different Leader at Lucas Oil to Claim Diamond Classic Preliminary Win

Ashton Torgerson and Tyler Courtney Lead Early before Abreu Adds Sixth High Limit Win of 2025

WHEATLAND, MO. (June 27, 2025) Even after an afternoon downpour that put the night in jeopardy, Lucas Oil Speedway still salvaged the surface and proved once again why it is called "The Diamond of Dirt Tracks."

Coming from the fourth position, Rico Abreu became the third different leader in Friday's 30-lapper en route to winning for the first time at the Wheatland, Missouri facility.

Early on in the Diamond Classic preliminary, it was a matchup of the Shark Racing No. 1A and the Clauson-Marshall Racing No. 7BC at the front of the field. Ashton Torgerson controlled the opening seven circuits, chasing his first-career Kubota High Limit Racing victory, let alone his first win on the National 410 level.

"Sunshine" disposed of Torgerson come Lap 8, but his lead proved to be short-lived as Abreu's Kubota Genuine Parts No. 24 was hounding him in a hurry. With traffic now in play, Abreu was able to capitalize and take the top spot on Lap 11 - a lead he would never relinquish.

The race ran green flag from there until Lap 26 when the final caution of the race flew and set up a four-lap sprint to the finish. Courtney restarted right on Abreu's tail with a shot at redemption, but the No. 24 was too strong in clean air and Rico sailed away with the win.

Friday marked Rico's first-ever win at Lucas Oil Speedway, his sixth trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane in 2025, his ninth overall win of the year, and his 18th career victory with Kubota High Limit Racing - extending his record with the most all-time.

Tyler Courtney's impressive Lucas Oil Speedway resume grew once more, contending for the win for the fourth time in four tries at this place with a wing. He settled for second in the Clauson-Marshall Racing, NOS Energy Drink No. 7BC to cut into the championship lead after a troublesome Thursday.

Extending his recent hot streak, Tanner Thorson got by Brent Marks on the final lap to take the last podium position. He's now earned six top-six finishes in his last six races with Kubota High Limit Racing, turning the Rod Gross Motorsports No. 88 into one of the most consistent cars on tour lately.

Rounding out the top-10 on Friday night was Brent Marks, Aaron Reutzel, Ashton Torgerson, Brad Sweet, Daison Pursley, Kasey Kahne, and Chase Randall.

WHEATLAND, MO. (June 26, 2025) They call it "The Diamond of Dirt Tracks" for a reason, and on Thursday night, Lucas Oil Speedway delivered another gem of a finish with Kubota High Limit Racing.

Kicking off the three-day Diamond Classic with a Roto-Rooter Midweek Series points-paying event, 30 Sprint Cars checked in to the Wheatland, Missouri facility and the night began the same way it ended - with Aaron Reutzel at the top of the boards.

Leading the final 19 laps of the A-Main, Reutzel came from the third starting position to clinch his fifth-career win with Kubota High Limit Racing. He disposed off fellow Texas native Chase Randall in the opening laps to move into second spot and then chased down early leader Tyler Courtney.

On Lap 12, the Ridge & Sons Racing No. 87 whipped around the outside of Sunshine's Clauson-Marshall Racing No. 7BC to assume command of the lead. A-Aron held the top spot with relative ease down the stretch, that is until Tanner Thorson came alive in the closing laps and nearly pulled off a stunner in the final lap.

One slight bobble on the cushion atop turns one and two allowed Thorson to close in a hurry and in came a giant slide job into the final corners. Thorson's No. 88 cleared Reutzel to briefly assume the lead, but the No. 87 was able to quickly counter and cross-over, edging Thorson by a mere 0.101-seconds at the checkered flag - one of the closest finishes in series history.

For Reutzel, it was his second-career win at Missouri's Lucas Oil Speedway and his fourth trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane this year. With the win, the Ridge & Sons Racing team takes over the top spot in the Roto-Rooter Midweek Series standings through six of 10 races in the mini-series.

Although he fell short at the stripe, Tanner Thorson continued his remarkable run of late. The 10th-to-2nd effort marked a fifth-straight top-six finish for the No. 88 team with Kubota High Limit Racing, as they continue to prove they're on the verge of that first-career win.

Rounding out the podium and ending a six-race dry spell in doing so was Brad Sweet. He held on to his Kubota High Limit Racing championship lead with an 11th-to-3rd effort in the Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts No. 49 - continuing his streak of never finishing off the podium at Lucas Oil with a wing.

Closing out the top-5 on Thursday was Chase Randall with a season-best finish of fourth and Kyle Larson with a fifth-place run in his Lucas Oil Speedway debut.

Rounding on the top-10 was Brent Marks, Daison Pursley, Noah Gass, Kevin Thomas Jr., and Rico Abreu.

Point Leader Peter Benker Scores First 2025 SoCal Lightning Sprint Car Series Win at Barona Speedway

El Cajon, CA — July 21, 2025 — Series point leader Peter Benker, one of only three drivers to start every SoCal Lightning Sprint Car Series main event this season, broke through for his first victory of the year last Saturday night at Barona Speedway. The Alpine, California veteran’s impressive performance widened his lead in the championship standings to 46 points heading into the much-anticipated SCLS Summer Showdown on August 1st and 2nd.

Peter Benker, second from left, celebrates with family, and friends after his Barona win

.  SCLS Photo.

The 20-lap main event saw El Cajon’s Deejay Dumas on the pole with Benker alongside. Behind them were San Diego’s Parker Dumas and June Barona winner “Shugah” Shane Sexton of Warner Springs, followed by Brent Horn and Kelly Weitzel, both from El Cajon, in row three.

In an unfortunate twist, Parker Dumas—who entered the night with two SCLS wins in 2025—suffered a fuel pump failure in staging and was unable to start the feature.

When the green flag dropped, Benker surged into the lead with Dumas and Sexton in pursuit. Sexton challenged Dumas early on, trying the inside on lap three and again on lap five, but Dumas defended his spot each time. Finally, Sexton changed lines and went to the outside, exiting turn four on lap six.  He stormed past Dumas and into second.

By then, Benker had already opened up a commanding lead. He caught the back of the field by lap 12, including his son Cody Benker, who had entered the night second in points but was struggling with a fading engine.

Despite Sexton closing the gap in the final laps, Benker remained untouchable, leading all 20 circuits in the AG Sandcars/Color Fittings/Ad Fab Vinyl/Secret Hills Ranch #13. Sexton finished second, followed by Deejay Dumas in third, San Diego’s Chase Wilson in fourth, and Brent Horn in fifth.

Earlier in the evening, Sexton claimed the first heat race ahead of Dumas and Weitzel. Parker Dumas won the second heat over Benker and San Diego’s Jason Arnolde.

With the Summer Showdown just 10 days away, Benker now holds a 46-point cushion over Dalton in the championship standings. Cody Benker sits third, just 13 points out of second, and will return with a new engine for the two-night event. Tyler Warner (Alpine) and Jason Arnolde (San Diego) round out the current top five.

El Cajon, CA — July 27, 2025 — The SoCal Lightning Sprint Car Series is set for its biggest weekend of the 2025 season as it rolls into Barona Speedway for the 1st Annual SoCal Summer Shootout this Friday and Saturday, August 1–2. The action-packed doubleheader will feature the Winged Warriors of the SCLS alongside the always entertaining Dwarf Cars.

The high-stakes weekend includes two full nights of racing. Friday’s main event winner will pocket $650, while Saturday’s victor will take home $800. Both nights guarantee $100 to start the main events. Fans will also be treated to trophy dashes, with D&W Racing sweetening the pot—offering $100 on Friday and $200 on Saturday. An additional $300 bonus will be awarded to the weekend's top point earner, who will be crowned “King of the Summer Shootout.”

These races are pivotal in the battle for the 2025 SCLS championship. Alpine’s Peter Benker, runner-up in the inaugural season, leads the current standings with a 46-point advantage over San Diego’s Landon Dalton. Not far behind in third is Benker’s teenage son, Cody Benker, who trails by just 13 points for second place and 59 from the lead. Alpine’s Tyler Warner and San Diego’s Jason Arnolde round out the top five.

So far in 2025, the SCLS has seen four different winners in five events. Parker Dumas of San Diego swept the opening weekend at Imperial Valley Raceway, while Peter Benker, “Shugah’” Shane Sexton of
Warner Springs, and Jeff Dyer have each scored victories at Barona.

This weekend’s Shootout will also welcome several non regulars. Dyer, a California Highway Patrol Officer from Yucca Valley who regularly races in the USAC/CRA 410 Sprint Car Series and the California Lightning Sprints, returns to Barona alongside his 16-year-old teammate Drake Cardey of Riverside. Cardey, in his first season of lightning sprint competition, currently leads the CLS Rookie of the Year standings.  It will be his first ever race on the track.

Hot on Cardey’s heels in the CLS Rookie chase is fellow teen Braydin Collie of El Cajon who will be making his third SCLS start of the year and his first at Barona. After the weekend wraps up, Collie will hit the road for the Min-Kota Lightning Sprint Summer Nationals in Minnesota and North Dakota.

A special thanks goes out to the regular SCLS sponsors and this week’s bonus purse supporters: Grandpa Ron, hairbykellidumas, Kitchen Barn, CRS Supply, Broes Raceworks, Big Mark Motorsports, Bill’s Jerky, Blossom Valley Grading, Iron Alliance Engineering, Benker Racing, Keys Brothers, D&W Racing, American Racer Tires, and Cakes By Kim.
