Baylea Kronseder – Quarter Midget Racer & Youth Motorsports Advocate

In this inspiring episode of the Women's Motorsports Network Podcast, host Melinda Russell chats with 11-year-old Baylea Kronseder, a bright and passionate quarter midget racer from Jackson, New Jersey. With a family history rooted in drag racing and support from a large network of sponsors, Baylea shares how her motorsports journey began at just nine years old after attending an “arrive and drive” event.

Baylea talks about her progression through RC racing, her love for farm animals (especially her chickens!), and how she’s moving into heavier classes like Heavy Honda and eventually Heavy 160. She emphasizes the importance of learning from her dad in the garage, making friends at the track, and being a role model for younger drivers—especially girls. Despite being the youngest and only girl in her family, Baylea holds her own with confidence and grace, even helping comfort newer drivers after tough races.

She also shares her admiration for Natalie Decker, how racing has helped her overcome shyness, and her ultimate goal for the season—winning a national race in the NASCAR Youth Series. With her Wawa Sizzli pre-race ritual and a smile full of enthusiasm, Baylea reminds listeners that racing isn’t just about speed—it’s about heart, friendship, and finding your voice.

From Go-Karts to Greatness: Charlotte Traynor’s Passion-Fueled Path to the MX-5 Cup

In this inspiring episode of the Women's Motorsports Network Podcast, host Melinda Russell chats with 18-year-old Charlotte Traynor from Phoenix, Arizona. A former go-kart racer turned Mazda MX-5 Cup driver, Charlotte shares how her aviation-rooted family supported her unusual path into motorsports. With no racing lineage but plenty of grit, Charlotte jumped into karting at 13 and has now advanced to running a part-time MX-5 Cup schedule—strategically staying eligible for Rookie of the Year honors next season.

Charlotte talks about learning from legends like Sally McNulty and Heather Hadley, traveling cross-country with her dad (a pilot!), and working closely with Parker DeLong Racing to develop her racecraft. She opens up about building confidence, battling gender bias in karting, creating a standout social media presence, and her long-term dream to create opportunities for talented but underfunded young racers.
