Friday May 15th-A bullring battle in the “Great White North” awaits the best drivers in the Northeast, as the Super DIRTcar Series heads to Canada for the first time in 2026.

The Beasts of the Northeast will visit Cornwall Motor Speedway in Long Sault, ON, on Sunday, May 17, for the Spring Shootout at Cornwall. Drivers will battle in a 100-lap Feature with $10,000 on the line for the first time this season.

Friday May 15th-Seth Begman knew after the first weekend of the 2026 American Sprint Car Series season that he needed a refresh. 

The 2024 Series champion struggled out of the gates at Volusia Speedway Park in his debut appearance in the 55th Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals. Through three 360 Sprint Car Features, Bergman’s highest finish was 15th, missed the Friday Feature, and left the Barberville, FL 1/2-mile sitting 18th in points. 

SUMMER MADNESS: Hell Tour’s 40th Anniversary Season Begins June 9

Friday May 15th-The 40th anniversary season for the DIRTcar Summer Nationals kicks off in under one month’s time, saluting four decades of history, tradition, and the most intense dirt track racing grind in the country.

A fully loaded schedule of 33 Late Model races in 34 days presents one of the most grueling schedules in Hell Tour history. Starting June 9 at Brownstown Speedway, the tour will also venture to two brand-new tracks — Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway and Camden Speedway — plus three tracks not seen on the docket in over 30 years — West Liberty Raceway, Farmington Empire Speedway, and Windy Hollow Speedway — before wrapping up at Wayne County Speedway on July 12.

NASCAR All-Star Race Roars Into Dover’s Monster Mile for $1 Million Showdown

 

Thursday May 14th-The always highly-anticipated, high-action NASCAR All-Star Race moves to a new venue for this year’s edition, Dover Motor Speedway. The Monster Mile, as Dover’s concrete high-banks are known, will host the $1 Million to-win race for the first time Sunday afternoon with all the action beginning at 1 p.m. ET (FS1, FOX Deportes, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

 While the title of All-Star race winner may not pay points toward the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings, it has absolutely turned into a good indicator of championship paths. Thirteen times the All-Star race winner has gone onto claim the series title, including three of the last six years with Chase Elliott (2020), Kyle Larson (2021) and Joey Logano (2024).

 Motivation will not be a problem this weekend.

The two have been connected since Earl Baltes welcomed Ted Johnson’s band of travelers for the tour’s second race ever. At the time, nobody knew that the foundations of The Greatest Show on Dirt were forming, but Baltes saw promise in Johnson’s plan to organize the country’s best Sprint Car drivers.

The legendary Rossburg, Ohio 1/2-mile dirt oval will be home to USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship and NOS Energy Drink World of Outlaws Sprint Car racing with both series competing in a dream doubleheader on back-to-back nights, Friday-Saturday, May 15-16.

Thursday May 14thAfter more than a decade, the Super Cup Stock Car Series goes back to where it all started.  With expenses escalating across other touring series at the time, a lower-cost option came together and on October 13, 2007, Hickory Motor Speedway was chosen for a 50-lap trophy dash exhibition that was won by local racer Dexter Canipe Jr.

 The 2008, 2010, and 2011 season champions were crowned at the historic 0.363-mile oval, but a checkered flag has not flown for the series composed of 3,300-pound, 600 horsepower “Gen 4” style stock cars at the track since then.  That will change this Saturday with a 60-lap main event, the longest race distance since twin races at Dominion in 2022.

Thursday May 14-thAfter a strong season opener in Texas, the POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprint League heads to Missouri for a two-night swing. Racing starts Friday, May 15 at the high banks of US 36 Raceway for the Highbanks Shootout, then moves to Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday, May 16 to kick off the Road to the Hockett.

 

With one race in the books, the points battle is already starting to take shape. Early contenders have shown speed, but a deep field is ready to mix things up heading into Missouri.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: DIRTcar Pro Stock Series Resumes Title Chase at Albany-Saratoga

Thursday May 14-thOne month after kicking off the chase for the 2026 DIRTcar Pro Stock Series title at Utica-Rome Speedway, the top full-fender drivers in the Northeast return to action in New York’s Capital Region.

The Series visits Albany-Saratoga Speedway on Friday, May 15, for the first of two visits this season. Drivers will battle in a 30-lap Feature paying $1,000-to-win.

Joining the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series are the track’s DIRTcar Big Block Modified, DIRTcar Sportsman, Limited Sportsman, and Street Stock divisions.

Fans in the Delmarva peninsula will be treated to a mega-event this week, as two of the top dirt racing series in the country visit Delaware.

The Super DIRTcar Series will visit Georgetown Speedway in Georgetown, DE, on Wednesday, May 13, as part of the Delaware Diamond Clash with the World of Outlaws Late Models Series presented by DIRTVision.

PIT BOX: Whelen Modified Tour returns to action Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway

The great state of Massachusetts welcomes back the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour this Saturday night with the running of the J&R Precast 150 at Seekonk Speedway (8 p.m. ET on FloRacing).

 Saturday’s race marks the 14th time the Modified Tour will compete at the 0.333-mile asphalt oval located fewer than 20 minutes from Narragansett Bay. Matt Hirschman returns to Seekonk as the man to beat after winning the last three Modified Tour events at the track dating back to 2023.

Competitive USF Juniors Field Heads to Canada

USF Juniors Presented by Continental Tire this week will venture north of the border for the very first time since its inception in 2022 with a visit to the famed Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, near Bowmanville, Ont. The tripleheader event will form part of the traditional Victoria Day SpeedFest at the high-speed 2.459-mile natural terrain road circuit, formerly known as Mosport, which most recently hosted an Andersen Promotions event for Pro Mazda (now USF Pro 2000) in 2013.

INDYCAR and INDYCAR Officiating have announced an operating practice and process update following a review of the on-track incident involving car No. 20 during the Saturday, May 9 race on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.

On Lap 21, car No. 20 lost power and stopped on the front straightaway on drivers’ right of the track – off the racing line. Course marshals followed standard flagging protocol and deployed a standing yellow condition at Marshal Panel 14, with a corresponding waving yellow condition at Marshal Panel S/F (start-finish) to alert competitors to the stationary car. The escalation to a full course yellow (FCY) was made on Lap 22 as the driver began to exit the race car.

“Sebring and Daytona were a bit difficult for us, so we’re looking forward to the first sprint race of the year and hopefully from now on it’s going to be better,” Mies said in a Friday media availability prior to on-track activity in Monterey. “We had decent results, but obviously we are looking for more. A podium here would be nice, maybe a win. 

Ashton Torgerson Heads to Three Stooges Racing for Remainder of World of Outlaws Rookie Campaign

Ashton Torgerson is joining forces with Three Stooges Racing to complete his rookie World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season.

The 19-year-old began the year aboard the Shark Racing No. 1A. Their 17 races together in 2026 yielded four top 10s including a runner-up at Volusia Speedway Park. The Shark team opted to park the car for an unspecified amount of time, leaving Torgerson seeking an avenue to continue the campaign. Even though things didn’t end how Torgerson may have preferred, the rising racer is grateful for the opportunity they provided.

Kalitta Named Hulman Classic Grand Marshal for May 20 at Terre Haute

Thirty years after his 1996 Tony Hulman Classic victory, Doug Kalitta will serve as grand marshal for the 56th running of the event featuring the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship at Indiana’s Terre Haute Action Track on Wednesday night, May 20.


 

Prior to becoming the 2023 and 2025 NHRA Top Fuel dragster champion, Kalitta rose to prominence in USAC competition, culminating in a National Sprint Car driving championship in 1994.

Drivers competing full-time with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will accumulate points at all Crown Jewel Cup events paying $50,000 or more to win throughout the season. Watkins Glen date move for 2027 draws wide acclaim

 One of the most popular decisions NASCAR has ever made was revealed last week.

 In fact, the decision was so popular that NASCAR couldn’t wait until the races at Watkins Glen International were over to announce the change.

 Before the first race car took to the 2.45-mile road course this past weekend, NASCAR revealed that next year’s NASCAR Cup Series race at the Glen would take place in September, as part of the Chase.

Friday MAY 8TH-AMA Pro Racing joins the motorcycle racing community in mourning the passing of Mike Kidd, the 1981 AMA Grand National Champion, AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer, race promoter, series builder, and former AMA Pro Racing executive. Kidd was 72.

 

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Kidd authored one of the most respected careers in American motorcycle racing, first as a rider who overcame repeated adversity to reach the sport’s highest level, and later as a promoter and executive who helped shape the future of flat track and indoor motorcycle racing.

 

Kidd turned professional in 1972 and quickly established himself among the elite riders of the Grand National era. His first AMA Grand National victory came at the 1974 Charity Newsies Half Mile in Columbus, Ohio, and he went on to collect 12 AMA national wins during his professional racing career.

Friday MAY 8TH-The 2026 Intercontinental GT Challenge ramps up a notch next weekend at the ADAC Ravenol 24h Nürburgring where 26 of the 41 SP9 (GT3) entries are eligible to score IGTC points.

SRO’s globe-trotting GT3 series makes its third appearance at the Nordschleife after first visiting in 2024. This season’s edition follows Mercedes-AMG’s victory at the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour in February, and also represents the first of two twice-around-the-clock GT3 races in a little over one month.  Dillon and Rader visited the Eastern North Carolina base for a hands-on experience with the United States Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, part of the Mission 600 leading into the annual Coca-Cola 600 on May 24 at Charlotte Motor Speedway (6 p.m. ET on Prime Video, HBO Max, PRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

NASCAR Cup race caps long weekend at the Glen for road course stars

 

Thursday MAY 7TH-For the first time this season, road course ace Shane van Gisbergen will have a chance to defend one of his NASCAR Cup Series victories from last year.

 Because of a shakeup in the schedule, however, that first defense will come at Watkins Glen International, whose May date for Sunday’s Go Bowling at the Glen (3 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) is the earliest ever for the 2.45-mile circuit.

 Van Gisbergen won the last five road course races of 2026, but because of schedule changes, he’ll have the chance to defend victories at only two of the venues—Watkins Glen and Sonoma Raceway.

Great Lakes Super Sprints Open Hartford Speedway Friday Night


  Thursday MAY 7TH-The Great Lakes Super Sprints Presented by PERFIT & ARP will help kick the gates open at Michigan’s Hartford Speedway this Friday night. One of the most technically challenging tracks on the circuit, Hartford Speedway offers teams an early-season opportunity to set themselves apart from the rest of the pack. Likewise, the tough-to-navigate third turn could also be an early-season troublemaker.


 Hartford Speedway has long been a staple on the GLSS schedule, going back to the inaugural season in 2016. Dustin Daggett grabbed the win and the fast qualifier honors that season during the lone race held in July. Friday will mark the 19th different race held at Hartford. In that time, 10 different drivers have gone to victory lane.

Thursday MAY 7TH- Austyn Gossel is confident that his first triumph with the American Sprint Car Series is near. 

In his third full-time season with the Series, the Fort Collins, CO native is looking to prove his capability of winning on the tour while continuing to grow the chemistry of the team he has around the No. 16G machine. 

He’ll continue the milestone quest at Benton Speedway on Friday night. Through his only two appearances at the track with ASCS, Gossel finished 10th in 2024, then earned his career-high at the “Show Me State” 3/8-mile with a fifth-place result in the 2025 showcase.

Wednesday May 6th-The Advanced Fastening Supply Badger Midget Auto Racing Association opens the 2026 season this Friday, May 8, at Davenport Speedway. It's Badger's first trip to the Hawkeye state since 2022 when they raced at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. In 2021 the club was slated to run Davenport, but the event was rained out.

Tuesday May 5th- An unusual start to a new season of USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire will regain a sense of normalcy this week as both USF Pro 2000 and USF2000 return to action on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Grand Prix road course. Saturated grounds paired with continued rainfall and forecasted cold temperatures have led to the decision to cancel the event. The Great Lakes Super Sprints portion of the show will not be rescheduled. Officials are working to find a suitable reschedule date for the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints portion of the show.

Wednesday April 29th..AMA Pro Racing is saddened to learn of the passing of longtime track builder and flat track supporter Dennis Pearson.

 

Born September 10, 1954, in Indian River, Michigan, Pearson was part of a family deeply rooted in racing. His brothers Scott, Paul, and Gordon were all involved in competition, continuing a family tradition that spanned generations.
