  The Super Cup Stock Car Series wrapped up a stretch of five events and nine races in a 10-week span when summer officially began in mid-June.  It was the first time since 2022 that not a single scheduled event fell victim to rain or was canceled or postponed to another date.

NASCAR Cup drivers gear up for return to points racing at North Wilkesboro

 

for the first time since 1996, NASCAR Cup Series drivers will be chasing points at North Wilkesboro Speedway when they take the green flag for Sunday’s Window World 450 (7 p.m. ET on TNT, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

 For those who have been counting the days between points races at the iconic 0.625-mile short track, 10,885 days will have passed since Jeff Gordon beat Dale Earnhardt by 1.73 seconds on Sept. 29, 1996.

 t 450 laps (281.25 miles), Sunday’s race will be the longest in North Wilkesboro history, on an asphalt surface that was repaved in November 2023.

Two-time Funny Car world champion Cruz Pedregon has spent more than three decades competing in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and will look for his first Sonoma Raceway victory in nearly 30 years at this weekend's 38th annual DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals presented by PowerEdge.


Pedregon, a Southern California native, pilots the 12,000-horsepower Snap-on Tools Dodge Hellcat SRT and the Funny Car veteran has many memories from the Northern California facility, including his two wins in 1996 and 1998.

 Sheldon Haudenschild couldn’t have picked a better time to ride one of the best stretches of his career.

The Sprint Car world has converged on Rossburg, OH’s Eldora Speedway for the 43rd running of the Kings Royal, and Haudenschild is operating at a level above the rest. He’s taken the KCP Racing No. 18 to four victories in the last eight World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races and 10 podiums over the last 13 Features. Outside of a night he got upside down, his average finish over that stretch is an impeccable 2.17.

When Daulton Wilson took the checkers at Stateline Speedway, it was more than his first win with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision. It was the fulfillment of a promise.

Big Frog/Viper Motorsports brought Wilson into the fold for one primary reason – they believed in his ability to make them winners at the highest level of dirt Late Model racing.  Tuesday July 14th  - Dale Planck was a staple at Utica-Rome Speedway throughout his career, and on Wednesday night, the track will honor him as part of its DIRTcar 358 Modified Series event.

The Northeast’s top Small Block Modified drivers will compete in the Dale Planck Memorial on Wednesday, July 15, a 77-lap Feature paying $5,077-to-win. It’s the Series’ first stop at Utica-Rome since 2019.

Tuesday July 7th - The home state of the American Sprint Car Series returns to stir the championship hunt with a two-day swing in the heart of Summer. 

The ASCS National Tour visit to Arkansas will begin at Batesville Motor Speedway on Friday, July 10, to make up for a postponement from the previous month. After the battle at the 3/8-mile dirt oval, the Series heads to the state line on Saturday as Texarkana 67 Speedway hosts the Ralph Henson Memorial on July 11.

Race Week Is Here: Williams Grove Half-Mile This Saturday

Tuesday July 7th - It’s race week, and the countdown is on for the Williams Grove Half-Mile on Saturday, July 11.

Before the bikes hit the track, race fans are invited to kick off the weekend at the official pre-race party on Friday, July 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Appalachian Harley-Davidson. The evening will feature music, food, beverages, 2026 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, giveaways, and a rider meet and greet.

Tuesday July 7th -  The road to Super DIRT Week 54 continues for the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series this week, as drivers prepare for two races in two different countries.

First, the Series returns to Canada for the final time in 2026 with a stop at Cornwall Motor Speedway on Tuesday, July 7. The $1,500-to-win (CAN) event will finish off the event that was postponed on May 31

Return to Chicagoland features unknowns for many NASCAR Cup drivers

 

Thursday July 2nd - Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race is billed as a return to Chicagoland Speedway.

 In reality, nearly half the field will be competing on the 1.5-mile intermediate for the first time in Cup Series cars when drivers take the green flag in the eero 400 (6 p.m. ET on TNT, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

 The Cup Series last raced at Chicagoland in 2019, when Alex Bowman took the lead from Kyle Larson with six laps left and went on to win by 0.546 seconds. At that time, Larson was still driving for Chip Ganassi Racing.
