February  2026

Greetings!

Alex Palou insists he has no regrets about abandoning his long-running Formula 1 ambitions,

The four-time IndyCar champion has rebuilt his reputation after his bitter contract dispute with McLaren, and Verstappen recently said Palou should be happy with what he has rather than chasing an uncertain F1 future. Palou agreed.

"You never know what the future might hold, but I'm in a great position. I have an opportunity that few things can compare to," said the 28-year-old Spaniard.

"The most important thing for any athlete is to have fun, and that only comes when you win. Just because Formula 1 is a bigger series in the world doesn't mean I'll have more fun there if I don't win.

"Besides, I've already tried to break into Formula 1, and now that I'm almost 29, starting from scratch as a rookie might be too late. I'm very happy where I am."

However, he admitted the door isn't entirely shut.

"What could change my mind? First and foremost, an offer from a team with a competitive car," said Palou. "I'm only happy on the track when I can win or fight for victories. We see this with Fernando Alonso - if a driver doesn't have a fast car, every weekend becomes a struggle.

"I'm a Formula 1 fan and follow the series, but I believe my place right now is in the United States,"

WHAT STUNS YOUR WRITER IS aLEX pALOU IS NOT THE TOP PAID iNDY CAR DRIVER ACCUALLY IF THIS LIST IS CORRECT HE IS NOT A MEMBER OF THE TOP FIVE

Colton Herta, $7 million

Pato O'Ward, $5 million

Scott Dixon, $3.5 million-$4.5 million

Kyle Kirkwood, $3.5 million

Marcus Ericsson, $3 million

A more common pay structure among the series' drivers is that they must bring millions of dollars of sponsorship to their team, and they get a cut of it, as well as performance bonuses.

But how much does it cost to run an IndyCar team?

It usually costs between $3 and $10 million to run an IndyCar team for a year. IndyCar is not as expensive as Formula 1, but it is still in the millions of dollars each year to run a team. The car costs around $2-3 million, and the drivers themselves may demand a salary of this or more.

Álex Palou and Chip Ganassi Racing have settled the four-time IndyCar champion's breach of contract dispute with McLaren Racing, and the Spanish driver acknowledged Friday he mishandled the situation. in January Palou was ordered by London's High Court to pay McLaren more than $12 million after a five-week trial in which the F1 team proved he backed out of two different deals with the racing team.

The team was initially seeking closer to $30 million and said after the ruling it would still pursue legal fees from Palou.

wHY NOT f1 THE MONEY IS THERE HOWEVER YOU CAN BE THE BEST AT YOUR GAME AND SIGN WITH A TEAM THAT IS NOT TO PAR AND NEVER BE COMPETITIVE ARE THE F1 DRIVERS THE BEST OPEN WHEEL DRIVERS IN THE WORLD? nO THEY JUST HAVE THE BEST EQUIPMENT

tHE base TO OPERATE A F-1 TEAM IN 20326 IS 135 million dollars, plus extra money for races beyond 21, and indexation for inflation, so the absolute limit sits closer to the 150–160 million dollar range

Reports suggest the team’s cost cap will rise from the 135 million dollar base to around 215 million dollars starting in 2026. This change aims to cover the extra cost of new engine rules and a likely 11th team

Lewis Hamilton, $100 million

Max Verstappen, $75 million

Lando Norris, $35 million

Charles Leclerc, $35 million

Fernando Alonso, $27 million

CONCLUSION : tHIS FORM OF MOTORSPORTS COSTS ARE INSANE AND I HONESTLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND WITH THESE COSTS IN BOTH F1 AND INDY CAR THE SERIES HAS SURVIVED YOUR WRITER IS IN THE WRONG BUSINESS !

SEE YA NEXT MONTH
